NEW! Overhaul Bike Class:
Theory is essential, but Experience is a very close second. It is better to see what is "under the hood" to let the parts show us how they do it. The objective of this class is to perform an overhaul on your own bicycle. Tools and techniques will be offered. You are encouraged to bring your own "special tools" if you wish to become more familiar with them. Students will dismantle, clean, and assemble their bicycle--equivalent to a complete overhaul. Student's bicycles must remain in the shop for the duration of the sessions. Do not expect to ride the bicycle you are using for this class until its completion. Replacement parts and accessories are not included.
Some places call this class "Build-a-bike". We call ours "Keep-your-bike". This class runs for four (4) weeks on Mondays, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Next class schedule is to be determined. The class fee is $350.
BASIC BIKE MAINTENANCE CLASS:
Bucephalus Bikes’ owner, Alex Añón, teaches a basic bike maintenance class at his shop at 1424 Lake Street. The three-hour class is an opportunity for you to learn the basics of how to keep your bike running smoothly. The class provides an overview of basic bike maintenance, including identifying your bicycle parts, fixing flats, cleaning your bike, recognizing a problem, and performing basic adjustments. Class size is limited to maximum of 8 people, and a minumum of 3. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion. Bring your bike. No prior knowledge needed. The 3-hour class is held twice each month--the third Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and the last Sunday from 9:00 am to noon. The class fee is $45.00. To register, send an e-mail to email@example.com
